Mastering Fiori App Configuration: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Accessing the Fiori Apps Library

The first step in configuring a Fiori app is accessing the Fiori Apps Library, which contains detailed information about all available Fiori applications.

  • Open the Fiori Apps Library using one of the following URLs:
    • Fiori Apps Library
    • http://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/arsrvc_upb_admn/main.html?sap-client=100&sap-language=EN&scope=CUST

Step 2: Login & Open Custom Launchpad

  • Log in to the SAP system.
  • Use transaction code (T-code) /N/UI2/FLP_CUST to open the custom launchpad.
  • (Alternatively, use /N/UI2/FLPD_CUST for activating standard applications.)

Step 3: Searching for Required Application

  • Use the search function in the Fiori Apps Library to find the required application (e.g., "Manage Sales Order").
  • Navigate to the Implementation tab and copy the Technical Catalog ID.
  • Ensure that all configurations from the Implementation tab are maintained in the system.
  • Paste the copied Technical Catalog ID into the system while creating the Fiori application.
  • Search for the tile and open it.
  • Locate the Analyze Differences application tile.

Step 4: Configure Semantic Objects

  • Copy the tile details, including Semantic Objects.
  • Use T-code /N/UI2/SEMOBJ to configure the application.

Step 5: Retrieve Technical Catalog in Launchpad

  • Navigate to the Implementation tab.
  • Copy the Technical Catalog ID and search for it in the launchpad.
  • Once found, access the application.

Step 6: Creating the Tile in the Launchpad

  • Open the Standard App Library and copy the configuration details.
  • Click on the (+) button to create a Catalog.
  • Select Standard, enter a Title and ID.
  • Choose App Launcher Static as the template.

Step 7: Configure Target Mapping

  • Click on Configure in Target Mapping.
  • Copy the following details:
    • Semantic Object
    • Title
    • Application Type
    • System Alias
  • Use these details to create the target mapping.

Step 8: Creating a Group

  • Navigate to the Group Tab.
  • Provide a Group ID and Title.
  • Search for the Catalog in the group.
  • Click (+) to add the group.

Step 9: Finalizing the Configuration

  • Tick the checkbox for the application.
  • Assign role to the catalog and group using T-code PFCG.
  • Refresh the URL.
  • Your application should now be visible and accessible in the system.
